The people behind Bál are Hafsteinn Ólafsson og Ólöf Vala Ólafsdóttir.

Hafsteinn graduated as a chef in 2012 from Hilton Nordica. He has had a successful career in competition cooking, winning gold and silver medals at the Olympic Games and the World Games in cooking with the national team of chefs from 2013 to 2017. He also won the title of Chef of the Year in 2017.


Ólöf is a waiter and sommilier (wine waiter). She graduated from Hilton Nordica in 2014 and has since attended Sommilier International at Master Sommilier International and at the W.S.E.T.
